Lake Monroe Sailing Association has several regular events every season, from Hog Roasts to our regular racing series for small boat enthusiasts and or longer races for cruisers. Most events are free to members, with a small fee charged to guests who come with a member. Other events are open to anyone, like our Annual Open House and Boat Show, which is usually in June. It’s a great way to get to know Lake Monroe Sailing Association. Recent additions to our calendar include LMSA University classes that include a safety course and an introduction to racing course. Perhaps the most unique event is our club-wide raft ups, that include on the water live bands.

Our Rules of Racing Series offers officially managed sailboat races governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2025-2028, produced by US Sailing under license from World Sailing. While the series features formal structure and officiating, it’s still welcoming to newer sailors—everyone is encouraged to come out, learn, and have fun on the water. The series includes three races in the spring and three in the fall.
RACE SCHEDULE 12:00 pm: Competitors' Meeting (Main Shelter) 1:00 pm: First Race Warning Signal (On the Water)
Interested in what’s happening behind the scenes at the club? Join us for our monthly Board Meetings, typically held on the third Wednesday of each month and normally scheduled for 6:00 PM. From December through March, meetings are held via Zoom for off-season planning and discussion. From April through October, we meet in person at the club as the sailing season gets underway. November features our Annual Meeting at the banquet, where we reflect on the past year and chart the course ahead.
All members are welcome to attend. Please check with the General Manager before attending, as meeting times or formats may occasionally shift due to scheduling circumstances.

Open to all LMSA regular members, the Weekend Cruiser Series features relaxed, social racing on Saturdays and Sundays with a focus on fun. Courses are typically point-to-point around Lake Monroe, with destinations such as Paynetown or Ramp Creek. Saturday racing is followed by a casual pitch-in picnic, and a second race is held Sunday, with boats usually finished by mid-afternoon.
